Based on Brene Brown’s Connections Curriculum based on Shame Resiliency Theory (SRT) , I believe shame resiliency skill building is a “missing link” in clinical treatment. My goal is to help clients reconnect with themselves by learning how to be vulnerable. As a dual diagnoses and addictions specialist, I believe this curriculum is an invaluable tool in the recovery process. In his role as medical director of the Gunderson Outpatient Program, Joe B. Flores, https://sober-home.org/ MD, oversees intensive treatment for individuals with borderline personality disorder and other complex personality disorders. The program strives to develop effective treatment approaches for individuals who struggle with narcissistic, antisocial, histrionic, paranoid, avoidant, dependent and obsessive compulsive personality traits. The integration of treatment and the multiple tiers of clinical supervision are the foundational strengths of the program.

This allows residents to feel ownership over their care and to integrate more effectively back into their lives and the community.
